Americans are the most generous people on earth. Rich Americans are the most generous people in America. And Republicans are more generous that Democratics. No surprise there . . . The EVIL 1% !!

We’ve been told that the world’s 62 richest people have as much wealth as the poorest half — 3.6 billion — on the planet do. As if this were some sort of existential threat. As if those 62 rich people made those 3.6 billion poor. As if this imbalance will somehow rip apart the universe because it breaches the time-space continuum.
Of course Sen. Bernie Sanders, one of the greediest people on Earth, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and the entire Democratic Party-media industrial complex will insist that those 62 rich folks and others like them be relieved of their money by force so it can be redistributed elsewhere. But let’s take a look at one aspect of the wealthy in this country and see what we can learn. Are the rich really avaricious near-criminals who are responsible for others having less? No, they’re not.
According to the Almanac of American Philanthropy, the top 1% in this country make one-third of all charitable donations. What’s more, they keep on giving even after they’re dead.
“The wealthiest 1.4% of Americans are responsible for 86% of the charitable donations made at death,” says the Almanac.
Writing about the report for the Washington Examiner, Paul Bedard says, “Republicans appear to give bigger gifts” than Democrats, with 31% of Republicans giving $1,000 or more, while only 17% of Democrats do the same. When it comes to giving more than $5,000, Republicans beat Democrats by a 3-to–1 ratio — 12% to 4%.
Remember, it’s not only the fault of the rich that the poor are poor, it’s also the fault of Republicans, says the Democratic Party-media industrial complex account of history.
As it turns out, Americans in general are typically more benevolent than our counterparts in other developed nations. Bedard reports, “The Almanac found that Americans out-donate Britain and Canada 2-to–1 and nations like Italy and Germany 20-to–1.” This won’t sit well with the Democrats and their journalistic allies, who dislike Americans in general in much the same way they loathe Republicans. They’re stuck on the narrative that Americans are a selfish lot.
Of course none of these facts will make a difference in the thinking and shrieking among Democrats and the media. To them, the only money that’s good money is that which is taken by government and handed out to preferred constituencies.
But, as with so many other issues, their belief runs contrary to that of most Americans. The Almanac also found that by a margin of 47–32, Americans are convinced that charities do a better job of solving social ills than government.
But that’s to be expected from those who see the halls of government as hallowed places of worship.
